OUR STORY
A Legacy of Connection, Service & Pride
The Ardenne Alumni Association Atlanta Chapter (AAAAC) was founded on a shared desire to reconnect Ardennites in Georgia and beyond. The idea first arose in 2007 when Peter Meikle, a member of the class of 1967, was inspired by the energy of alumni events in New York and Toronto to consider starting a chapter in his home state. Although initial efforts faced logistical challenges, the dream remained alive.
In 2016, a renewed sense of purpose emerged when Lenroy Jones, a member of the class of 1983, seeking community and connection, teamed up with his friend Garfield Rowe, also from the class of 1983, to bring the vision to life. Garfield’s passion and persistence led to the creation of a WhatsApp group, and as interest grew, the foundation for the AAAAC was laid. In December 2018, a key planning session guided by alumni leader Paul Barnett from the Toronto Chapter solidified the chapter’s roadmap, resulting in the soft launch of the chapter.
The Atlanta Chapter’s inauguration took full effect on July 19, 2019, during “The Reunion of All Reunions,” a lively three-day event that celebrated the official launch of the chapter. The celebration drew Ardennites from around the world and marked a significant moment of unity, pride, and renewed connection.
By February 2020, the AAAAC had elected its first executive board and started gaining momentum through events, service, and meaningful engagement. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck just months later, the chapter quickly adapted by launching virtual programs focused on health, wellness, culture, and professional development. Central to everything was a commitment to giving back through scholarships, school lunch support, and projects benefiting Ardenne High School.
Today, the AAAAC is a lively chapter of passionate alumni dedicated to connection, service, and legacy. We are proud of our journey and continue to build a strong, supportive network, lifting one another and honoring the Ardenne spirit in everything we do.
